How Much Did Rhod McEwan Spend on the Golf Business?
Rhod McEwan is a professional golfer and owner of the golf course in Scotland he designed. He's also the owner of a chain of hotels and restaurants, where he entertains his friends and business partners.
He started working at a very young age when he was just 13 years old. He worked hard and he managed to buy his first house when he was only 19 years old.
After that, he continued working hard until he had enough money to buy another house, which was bigger than the first one that he had bought when he was just 19 years old. It seems like Rhod McEwan never stops working hard because when we look at him today we see that his company has grown so much since then!
He started his career as a caddie at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia. He later became a professional golfer and won several tournaments in Europe. In 1968, he moved to the United States where he worked as a club pro at the Palm Beach Country Club in Florida.
In 1976, he founded PGA Tour which was later purchased by DuPont Company for $20 million dollars. In 1980, McEwan sold his share of the PGA Tour to DuPont Company and used this money to start his own company called World Golf Village which opened its doors in 1997. This project was funded by McEwan himself with an investment of $100 million dollars; however, it failed miserably due to poor management and lack of capitalization from investors.
He decided to build his own golf course because he was tired of paying money for something that he could do better himself. The result was a masterpiece, which cost him £30 million (about $39 million).
In addition to his career as an entrepreneur, McEwan is also a professional golfer who has competed in tournaments all over the world. He has won several awards for his skills on the course, including top honors at the British Open Championship in 2014.
