Woods‹Return to Previous Page
Antique hickory clubs come in two guises, wooden headed and iron headed. Woods are longer and more susceptible to damage, and the maker’s name is usually stamped to the crown. Often they have a lead weight behind and in the 1890s a brass plate was added to the sole, giving the name brassey to our modern day 3 wood.
