Description
A Dunlop Nimble rubber core ball, with diamond, square, hexagonal and chevron pattern, NIMBLE to both poles. An interesting pre war item.
The design has been refinished, and the poles have been re-painted, circa 1913.
The Dunlop Rubber Co Ltd started in Manor Mills, Aston, Birmingham in 1907 before moving to Fort Dunlop in the same city in 1924. Founded by John Boyd Dunlop, a Scottish vet who invented the pneumatic bicycle and car tyre in 1888. Dunlop’s first golf ball was made in 1907.
