Dunlop, Silvertown and Spalding made attractive hole-in-one trophies during the 20s and 30s and this is an example of the Dunlop type. John Sinclair Fernie was a member of the famous golfing family and was himself the professional at both Tyneside GC and Old Fold Manor GC.
